This update brings the total reported COVID-19 cases in Jackson County to 3,157 with the total number of COVID-19 deaths in the county now at 19. The seven new deaths are connected to outbreaks at Avamere Three Fountains, a nursing and rehabilitation center in Medford (three new deaths) and Table Rock memory Care assisted living in Medford (four new deaths). MANISTEE COUNTY - Manistee County has had 273 cases of COVID-19 as of Thursday's District Health Department #10 data. Manistee County has had 5 deaths, 106 recoveries and currently has 20 probable cases. Of the cases in the county, the state shows 136 were listed as female and 125 were listed as male, with 12 unknown. According to the DHD#10 county profile for October, 21.7% of Manistee County's cases involved people aged 50 to 59. In the DHD#10's 10-county region, most cases were split more or less evenly without any age group contributing an overwhelming majority of COVID-19 cases. The department's case summary for Manistee County said cases from Nov. 13-17 included school children and community spread. In the department's coverage areas, people aged 20 to 29 made up the largest group by percentage over 18% and was followed by the 50-59 group which made up nearly 15%. According to the DHD#10 heatmap Filer, Norman, Springdale, Stronach and Manistee townships have seen higher rates than the rest of the county. Of those, Filer Township leads the way with the highest rate of each, however, the City of Manistee did not have high rates compared to the other areas. The City of Manistee is now the sole lower rate area in the southwest corner of the county. Late Wednesday the department reported it has recorded 32 virus deaths this week, including 11 on Monday and six on Tuesday. To date, 204 COVID-19 related deaths have been recorded in Madison County. According to health department officials, Wednesday's deaths included one woman in her 60s, three women in their 70s, five women in their 80s and two women in their 90s.
